Expert support in obtaining planning

Obtaining planning approval can be a lengthy and frustrating business. New, updated and revised legislation means you need expert advice if you want to avoid wasting time and money.

Government guidelines stipulate that minor Planning Applications should be determined within eight weeks of registration. However registrations can be delayed if the application, for whatever reason, is returned. Major developments have a longer timescale for determination.

Once an application has been registered it is then sent to all statutory committees for feedback. This in itself is a procedure which varies from Authority to Authority and with increasing amounts of information being required it has to be accepted that delays and frustration are often par for the course.

At Paradigm, we have years of experience and expertise in dealing with Planning Applications, resolving difficulties before they become problems and moving the process forward in the quickest possible time. Planning Applications are classified in relation to use under the Classes Use order (www.communities.gov.uk) and you will note that there are many uses that are not specifically categorised by the four main use classes. These classes are classified as sui generis. Sui generis uses are their own specific use and planning permission is normally required for any change of use.

If it all sounds confusing, don’t be put off. It is a complex process and it can be long-winded. But because we understand what is involved, we are able to provide a comprehensive service that leaves you free to carry on doing dentistry with the minimum of interruption.
